Meet TrueProof: First-Party Activity Notifications for WordPress

Version note: product settings in this guide were checked against the TrueProof 2.4.0 release on September 17, 2026. New-install defaults and upgrade behavior are distinguished below.

Social proof that’s actually true

Some social-proof tools allow invented names, timers or purchases to be presented as activity. That can create legal, trust and reputational risks under applicable advertising and consumer-protection rules.

TrueProof, built by KarmaPower, s.r.o., takes the opposite approach. It surfaces tasteful, real-time notification bubbles of genuine recent activity on your store: real orders, real signups, real reviews. When a customer sees “Anna K. just purchased the Pro bundle,” it’s because Anna K. actually did. That’s the entire point. Genuine source events are easier to substantiate. TrueProof uses Real Data Mode by default; site owners remain responsible for configuration and presentation.

Real Data Mode: your store’s truth, shown beautifully

The heart of TrueProof is Real Data Mode. It connects directly to the events that already happen on your site and turns them into subtle, on-brand notifications that appear as visitors browse. No manual entry, no spreadsheets, no inventing anything.

TrueProof reads from the sources serious WordPress stores actually use:

  • WooCommerce orders, so recent purchases show up as they land.
  • Easy Digital Downloads sales for those selling software, templates, memberships and other digital goods.
  • New user registrations, ideal for membership sites and communities where signups signal momentum.
  • Approved reviews and comments, so verified customer feedback gets a second life as live proof.

Real Data Mode draws each notification from a supported source event. Visitors see activity drawn from supported real events. Compare audience response with your own funnel data.

Brand new store? Simulation Mode is honest by design

A site with no traffic yet may have no real events to show. TrueProof provides Simulation Mode for setup and preview.

Instead, it offers Simulation Mode for new sites. The Demo badge is always shown in Simulation Mode. Site owners remain responsible for using Simulation Mode lawfully. Use Simulation Mode for preview and setup, not as a substitute for genuine customer activity. As real orders and signups start flowing in, you simply switch to Real Data Mode and the genuine activity takes over.

This is the distinction that matters: simulated data that is plainly labelled as a demo is transparent. Simulated data presented as real is deceptive. The always-visible Demo badge helps reduce that risk; lawful use remains the site owner’s responsibility.

Privacy-conscious defaults and transparent use

TrueProof 2.4.0 identity controls: new installations default to Fully anonymous: real events display “Someone” with no city or country. Short name shows a first name and surname initial when available, plus location; a single-field name remains as stored. Full name shows the stored public name and location. Email-shaped name values are suppressed in every mode. Upgrades retain the previous shortened-name or full-name setting until an administrator changes it. Open Settings → TrueProof → Privacy, select Fully anonymous (recommended), save and inspect /wp-json/trueproof/v1/events in a logged-out browser. The setting controls public output; it does not rewrite the underlying WooCommerce order. Supported notification-source records are processed on your WordPress site. During normal use without licence activation, the plugin’s own code makes no third-party requests. Pro licence activation, validation and deactivation send the licence key, home URL and requested action to wptrueproof.com, but not the notification-source records; the service also receives standard network metadata.

TrueProof’s defaults are designed to support transparent use under applicable advertising rules: Real Data Mode uses genuine events and the Demo badge is always shown in Simulation Mode. Site owners remain responsible for configuration, notices and legal compliance.

Vanilla JavaScript and theme testing

TrueProof’s frontend uses vanilla JavaScript with no jQuery dependency. Actual page-load impact and visual compatibility depend on the active theme, plugins and page configuration. Test the widget, record any CSS adjustments and compare Core Web Vitals before and after enabling it.

Pricing that scales with you

TrueProof currently offers these plans and site limits:

  • Free to get started and prove the concept on your own store.
  • Pro at €49/year, covering up to 5 sites, for growing brands running a handful of stores.
  • Agency at €149/year, with up to 999 sites, for agencies and portfolio owners managing many clients.

Checkout is handled through secure Stripe, and every paid plan is backed by the stated 14-day money-back guarantee, subject to its terms. You can compare the tiers in detail on the pricing page.

Make genuine activity visible

Fabricated activity creates trust and legal risks. Genuine event data is easier to substantiate; measure how displaying it affects repeat visits, recommendations and funnel behaviour. TrueProof helps surface genuine real-time activity with privacy-conscious defaults. Site owners should measure business impact and remain responsible for legal compliance.
