Display Settings

Version note: product settings in this guide were checked against the TrueProof 2.4.0 release on September 17, 2026. New-install defaults and upgrade behavior are distinguished below.

Open Settings → TrueProof to configure the widget. Save after changing a setting, then verify the front end in a private browser window.

Appearance

  • Position: bottom-left or bottom-right.
  • Accent colour: choose the colour used by the notification.
  • Privacy: choose Fully anonymous, Short name or Full name. Fully anonymous displays “Someone” and hides city/country. It is the default for new 2.4.0 installations; upgrades retain the previous selection.

Timing

  • Start delay: time before the first notification appears.
  • Visible time: how long one notification stays visible.
  • Gap: pause between notifications.

Event range

  • Look-back window: 1–365 days.
  • Maximum events: 1–50 events.

Display rules

Free can display the widget across eligible pages or on the front/posts page. Pro adds selected-context rules for blog posts, pages, WooCommerce products and archive views.

Simulation Mode

Simulation Mode is a configuration preview that generates explicitly worded sample events. A visible “Demo” label is always shown on simulated notifications.

What selected-context rules do not do

Rules match page types, not individual URLs, visitors or product-specific events. The Products context is for WooCommerce products, not EDD downloads. Pages can include checkout pages; it is not an automatic checkout-exclusion option. Test your actual cart and checkout before expanding scope.

For a conservative WooCommerce start, follow the setup and privacy checks. Agencies can use the per-client rollout checklist.
