Troubleshooting
No events appear in Real Data Mode
- Confirm that Real Data Mode is selected and the intended source is enabled.
- For WooCommerce, confirm that the order status is processing or completed.
- For a review or comment, confirm that it is approved. Pingbacks and trackbacks are excluded.
- Confirm that the event date falls inside the selected look-back window.
- Check Settings → TrueProof → Show on and view a page that matches the rule.
- Wait three minutes for the event cache, or clear the relevant WordPress/cache-plugin cache.
- While logged out, open
/wp-json/trueproof/v1/events. If it is blocked, review security, REST API and caching rules.
A source is unavailable
WooCommerce and EDD sources require the corresponding plugin to be active. Completed EDD sales and new-user registrations are Pro sources and require a valid Pro licence.
Simulation events appear
Check whether Simulation Mode is selected. It generates explicitly worded sample events for preview and always shows a visible “Demo” label. Switch to Real Data Mode before using the widget to display supported customer activity.
Pro will not activate or validate
- Copy the key exactly and confirm that the site can make outbound HTTPS requests to wptrueproof.com.
- Check whether the key is already active on the maximum number of sites.
- Deactivate the old site before moving a licence.
- Check whether the annual licence period has expired.
