Test TrueProof on a WooCommerce Staging Store

Help test the free WooCommerce workflow. We are looking for store owners and agencies who can try TrueProof on an authorised staging site and share honest setup feedback. No purchase, paid subscription or positive review is required. This is a technical usability test, not evidence that sales notifications increase conversions.

Who this is for

You manage a WooCommerce store or have the owner’s permission to test its staging copy. Start with the current public WordPress.org release. As of October 2, 2026, that is TrueProof 2.4.0; this invitation is not an instruction to install an unreleased build on a customer site.

The core order and approved-review sources are free. You do not need a Pro licence, a new account or access to our systems. Keep staging private and make a backup first. Do not make a real payment just to create a notification.

The first-use check

  1. Record WordPress, PHP, WooCommerce and TrueProof versions, whether this is a new install or an upgrade, HPOS status, and relevant theme/cache settings.
  2. Install and activate TrueProof, then open Settings → TrueProof. A new installation leaves the public widget disabled until you deliberately enable it. On an upgrade, record the retained settings.
  3. Choose Real Data and the WooCommerce source. On staging, use an authorised test order with processing or completed status inside the selected look-back window. Never portray a synthetic order as a real purchase on a public store.
  4. Choose Fully anonymous. Confirm an eligible event is available and that its public identity is “Someone” with an empty location. Check the actual output; do not assume changing the setting makes an old cached response disappear immediately.
  5. Enable the widget on staging. Check a logged-out desktop and mobile view for the product link, position, delay, frequency and overlap with cart buttons or consent controls.
  6. If no event appears, follow the troubleshooting guide. Compare cache or delayed-JavaScript settings only on staging, record the original values and restore them. Do not weaken security controls.
  7. Tell us what worked, the first blocked step, and whether the free workflow solves your need. If you need an extra source or placement rule, describe the job rather than buying a licence just for this test.

Use the illustrated WooCommerce setup guide for screenshots and the source configuration. A correctly displayed staging event proves technical setup, not a change in customer conversion rate.

Send useful feedback safely

Email staging feedback to [email protected]

Include versions, the completed or blocked step, expected versus actual behaviour, reproduction steps and relevant non-secret settings. Screenshots are optional: remove customer, order, account and site identifiers before sharing. Do not send passwords, licence keys, cookies, purchaser records or full database/diagnostic exports.

Do not post a private staging URL in a public thread. Initial feedback can describe the environment without naming the store. A store URL, quote, screenshot or case study will not be published without separate permission for the exact material. No rating or endorsement is required. This invitation does not offer paid consulting, an affiliate arrangement or free Pro licences.

Already use Pro?

Keep your current working installation. Read the Pro installation and migration guide before any architecture update. Do not uninstall the base plugin: uninstalling deletes its settings. The separate Free 2.5.0 release remains pending a controlled migration.
